Learn to make artisan whole wheat sourdough pizza from your own kitchen
September 13, 2025, 1-4 PM (this class will be recorded if you are unable to attend)
ON-LINE CLASS–$29.00 Chef Julia has been working on creating a healthier version of pizza for the whole food plant based community. Using her sourdough starter and whole grain flours, she has created a beautiful dough as a foundation for those who love a simple classic pizza sauce and plant based cheese or for those who prefer a gourmet pizza loaded with toppings and fresh herbs. These pizzas can be baked on a pizza stone in the oven, cooked on an outdoor grill or an outdoor pizza oven. The crust is thin with chewy edges and has such good flavor from the whole grain flours. If you prefer a traditional pizza dough made with yeast or store bought pizza dough, these recipes will work just as well.
This class includes:
–A demonstration of how to make sourdough pizza dough with starter, how to shape the dough, top it with Chef Julia’s expertly prepared toppings, including her own cashew cheese you can easily make at home, bake the pizza and add extras. Chef Julia will also include instructions in the recipe packet on how to make your own sourdough starter.
–a detailed recipe packet including dough recipes, sauces, toppings, garnishes such as plant-based parm, and several pizza recipes
Chef Julia uses freshly milled whole grain flours from Barton Springs Mill. These flours make all the difference in taste and texture and can be ordered from their website and shipped to you or you can use grocery store flours. Her seasonal, chef-inspired toppings, sauces and freshly picked garden herbs will make you a pizza enthusiast for plant-based pizza. You will receive recipes for sauces and topping choices such as fennel tofu sausage, roasted wild mushrooms, marinated eggplant, shaved brussels sprouts, almonds, greens and more.
