RECIPES TAUGHT:
Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread: This is the real thing, with sourdough starter, a two-day process that results in a beautiful boule. It’s a little tangy, toasts up nice and crunchy, and is the perfect base for avocado toast and almond butter toast, or to eat with soups and stews.
Whole Grain Yeast Bread: A much quicker bread, light and slightly sweet, this bread can also be made into rolls or buns.
Pistachio Lemon Quick Bread: Not quite a dessert, but sweet enough to satisfy, ground pistachios and whole grain flour combined with spices and lemon zest result in a light and nutty quick bread. The Lemon Glaze with fresh lemon juice and zest takes it over the top. I couldn’t stop eating this bread! I believe I’ll make some of these during the holiday season as gifts.
Apple Walnut Bread: Chunks of apple, cinnamon, walnuts, whole grains, including oats, and a creamy glaze make this quick bread a taste of fall. I love it for breakfast in place of my daily oatmeal, especially on the weekend. It also makes a wonderful gift.
